my wife is looking to get a new car to replace her 98 opel corsa and i'm thinking we wouldn't get much for it so i'm wondering if it might be better to sell it for scrap?? has anyone any advice where i could go for this (i'm in the cork suburbs) and approx how much you'd get ??
    thanks

If it has an NCT and is running I'd sell it. Probably get €150-€200 scrap value if you decide to go down that route.

Having weighed in one of those yokes before, you'll get f*ck all for it. Even with the copper stripped out, engine (if you could call it that) and gearbox I was lucky to see £110 for the lot

Pouladuff dismantlers give 97ish a ton. 50euro to pick up the car.
Have a look on donedeal see can you sell it there?. Any spare parts you can sell from it?.
Or if you cant be bothered with the hassle, drop it to a dimantler.
    Hope thats of some use.

    thanks for the info!
it just passed the nct and is a nice little car, if she got 200 she would take it so maybe donedeal is a good option before looking down the scrap road

I phoned a scrap merchant about scraping a '98 car recently. He didnt want it. Said it was too old!
