Getting free panels

    Where in munster (Limerick) could i get my hands on some bodywork panels, they must be in fair enough condition.

    I need them to starting practicing with a new machine polisher i bought.

    im not sure where you'd get them for free tbh unless someone on here is willing to lend a hand.

    a breaker however would have panels, usually for reasonable money too.

    I always used to use my parents car for my practicing with the polisher :D

    What roughly would a bonnet cost from a brakers.

    No no no, dont pay, call all the local bodyshops and go collect. if you where in Dublin I could keep you supplied.

    I have a good few panels with different defects (blotches, dull finish, scratches etc) and damaged panels you could take away to practice with, I'm in Meath though

    Plastic bumpers are really really free to take away, so get into plastic welding / repair and your onto a winner.


    If you can turn out a perfect finish!

    Why would they have scrape panels :confused:

    I don't want something with a crap paint job or dented :o

    you can polish the rest of the panel and the dent will teach you how to avoid "burn through"

    i needed a few panels for promo for the vinyls there last year, went to the local scrap yard and he said head for the renaults, i could have any plastic panels for free :) i reckon most scrappys could be the same.
