Samsung Galaxy s2 no sim problem

    Hi,

My samsung Galaxy s2 got stuck in a boot loop yesterday. I did a factory reset and it boots up fine but now it wont read my sim card. It just says no sim. It does not ask for an unlock code.

I got the phone second hand and I'm presuming the phone must have been unlocked or something, and the factory reset has locked it again. Will I be able to fix this myself or will I have to bring it to a repair shop?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

If the phone was previously locked and now you think it's locked it would ask you for the unlock code before it fully boots into the home screen.

First thing, try a different sim (same network as your own first, if that doesn't work try a different provider sim) and see if it reads that as it may be your sim that has given up the ghost.

If the phone doesn't pick up a signal on the different sim then it's your phone that has the problem.

Check if your phone IMEI has been corrupted by inputting *#06# into the dialler.
If this is missing, your SIM won't register.

Not yet. I don't have another sim card to hand. I'll try and get hold of one later.

    Thanks.

Problem solved! I fiddled about with the sim card a bit and eventually the phone recognized it. Happy Days.
    Thanks everyone for your help.

Having the same problem as OP - my sim in my S2 is not being recognised.
I checked my IMEI by inputting *#06# and all I'm getting back is: IMEI

What can I do to solve this issue?
