Got to see the new Captain America movie the other night, and while I really enjoyed it, I was blown away by the story line. (Which is why I'm posting this here)
Basically, Hydra(the bad guys) have infiltrated Shield and the US government, have been doing so since project paper clip when America took in lots of nazi scientists after the war.
And they are about to launch a massive strike against the world in the name of freedom. Basically, you make the world safer by controlling it. Big New World Order theme going on throughout the film.
Still loved it as a flick though . Anyone else seen it?

What exactly is the CT here?

Plots like this have been used by Marvel since the 60s at least, DC comics has been doing it even longer.

I suppose the CT would be the nazification of the police force in America, that the real power behind governments is a cabal of power brokers who see themselves as the rightful rulers of the planet, that most of the acts of terrorism perpetrated are, mostly, done or allowed to be done by the powers that be to convince us to give up more freedoms for more safety, or just the general theme that the world is not as you see it, it's much more scary then that. Or maybe none of the above, guess you'd have to see it.

You have insidious influence over governments all over the world, mostly by corporations and the US is no exception to this problem.

Anyone can see the conflicts US engages in do nothing more than benefit their businesses and it's the average American along with victims of these wars that suffer.

What did Vietnam war accomplish? Nothing.
What did Afghanistan war accomplish? Nothing.
What did Iraq war accomplish? Nothing.

Again and again, we see America spending trillions of dollars on wars that accomplish absolutely nothing except enrich those invested in the manufacture and sale of weapons and that's really all it's about in the end.
