Losing water pressure

Hi, my boiler is losing water pressure and I have to keep opening the valve in the hot press to get it to fire. It means the preset at night wont come on if no-one is awake to manually adjust the valve.
It's happened in the past, along with other issues with the boiler and the letting agent had someone service the boiler and he said I may have to open the valve once in a while - but it's gone in the last couple of weeks from daily to every time we want the heating on.
Not Ideal with 2 smallies on cold nights.
My question is, until the letting agent gets it sorted, is it safe to leave the water valve in the hot press open at night to stop the pressure dropping? Tks

Don't leave the valve open, not good for the boiler to be letting mains in. Also you are introducing fresh water constantly which brings lime and dirt with it into system. Most likely there is a pressure vessel in the boiler low on air or has actually failed, meaning when water gets hot the pressure created has nowhere to expand and rises from 1 to 3 bar then water is released via a pressure relief valve to outside.

You have a leak, which is getting worse. The letting agent will put it on the long finger until you tell them the heating is not working at all.The letting agent need to get a plumber in to find the leak and repair
