    Hi,
Im thinking of going to Germany for the Summer but Im not 100% sure. There is a ticket of when Im thinking of going for only €26 and the other tickets around the date are a lot more.

But Im not 100% sure if Ill go. So I dont want to buy a ticket and pay for luggage when Im not going to go. How much are the fees to add a checked in bag at later date using manage my booking on the ryanair site? I can find the fees for paying during initial booking (http://www.ryanair.com/ie/terms-and-conditions#regulations-tableoffees) but not at manage my booking when they are saying the fees will be more.

Does anyone know how much more?

It's not a huge amount more, I think around €5 extra each way

Yes, it is 5 quid more. I just did it and it was €20 each way via Manage Booking instead of €15 if booked at the outset.

The fees are on the website. They are in a general table about half way down in the Ryanair Regulations on Specific Subjects section. It lists the fees (for everything, not just baggage) for buying in advance, versus doing it on the day at the airport.

But it does not list the fees for adding luggage later via 'Manage my booking' which is what the OP is asking and to which a few of us have replied. The website just says that higher charges may apply.

That's fairly poor of them! I thought it must be there somewhere, I went to look and as you said, it just says "higher fees may apply", which is ridiculous!
Are they allowed to do that? Basically a passenger has no idea really what he'd be paying if he turns up at the airport with extra luggage. That clause pretty much allows them to charge anything they want and change fees at will.

It does state the actual cost of paying at the airport, so I think that bit is clear.

The bit I am referring to is this, which does not give the exact cost.

***Higher prices apply if purchased through Manage Booking

But I agree, it should be clearly stated so you know in advance.

But to buy a ticket in the first place, you have to tick the box that you have read their Terms and Conditions don't you? You can't proceed with the booking unless you say that you have. That is where the baggage info is listed. Perhaps they aren't putting the info in the Manage My Booking section, as they presume that you already know it?

I agree that the info should be displayed better. We are all guilty of just ticking that box and, not actually reading what it is that we are saying we have read.
