Warning lights on BMW E46 dash

    Hi All

    I have a 2000 BMW 318CI. This evening 3 lights are on the dash simultaneously while I was driving. They are the brake warning light , ABS light and the light that has something to do with the Automatic Stability Control (I think)

    Before I get it plugged in is there a common fault that could be causing this or what is the likely culprit.

    We had that last week on the father in law's car which had been laid up for the winter. New battery and replacement abs sensor sorted it out (so far!)

    Check fuses, as far as I remember one of the fuses when pulled out causes specifically all these 3 lights to show up.

    Had this for the past 2 days - front/rear wheel speed sensor or ABS module. Both inexpensive to fix.
    Wheel speed sensor being the cheaper is usually the case - 30 quid for the part, about 50 to have fitted.

    Funny you say that as my BMW was laid up for a couple of months and the first day of driving the warning lights appeared

    If the battery is not charged fully or not charging you get that symptom. You can check the battery output yourself on the dash diagnostic:

    The speed sensor on one of the E46's can give bother. It gives the error lights like you described but is an easy and relatively cheap fix
