Leaving a Jobbridge internship

If I leave a jobbridge internship will it affect my jobseeker's allowance. I know they will deduct the extra €50, but is there a chance my payment will be cut altogether. I started an internship last week and its hasn't turned out how I imagined. I'm not going to be getting the experience I need out of it and the employer downright lied to me about the kind of work I would be doing. I have a degree in multimedia and the employer took me on as a graphic designer/web designer but they have decided they don't need one anymore and they want me to be a full time sales rep selling stuff over the phone. I'm planning on handing in a notice on Monday. Any advice would be appreciated.

Go back to the Welfare Officer that placed you in that internship and explain in detail what goes on at that employment. This sort of nonesense needs to bee rooted out:(.

Is there a need to give them notice? Call into your local sw office and let them know that you have come off the internship. You will be down the €50 per week. You will not be penalized as internships are voluntary. If you have been misinformed by the company you were on the internship with then you should report them to jobbridge. It important that you do this so that no one else can be misinformed by them and it will be investigated.

What I did was type up a letter explaining I has left jobbridge and the reasons for it. Drop it in to your local office and briefly explain verbally. They don't interrogate you as it is a voluntary scheme. They should have you reverted to your old payment within the week. It states you should give a weeks notice but in theory it's not needed.

Oh I know what you're going through, and would advise you to leave asap!! I was in an internship had completed a week and no paperwork had been done up nor had it been made official, so they basically got a week out of me doing their work! That Sunday night I sent both employers an email basically saying it wasn't for me. On the Monday I went into Social Welfare and explained to them that nothing had been signed so my payment wasn't affected.
I did another internship a week after, again learnt nothing and did mundane tasks and she actually let me go 6 weeks before I was due to finish!!
I have now been accepted to do a H Dip and I couldn't be happier!
These internships are soul destroying, deceitful and doesn't guarantee full time work.
Explain your case to Social Welfare, your payment shouldn't be affected. At least if it's reported they can't get away with it.
    Best of luck:)
