What do you want to do with it?

If you want to shoot little targets, like bunnies, you will want big magnification. Like the 6-20 range.

    I use a 3-9x40 for general plinking.

A few good brands/models of scopes that are a good value (nothing cheap about them): Burris, Bushnell, Nikon, Redfield, and Nikko Stirling to name a few.

Is this your first firearm/scope? Many of us started on Tasco scopes. They are fine to get you started if/when funds are tight. Just do not demand too much of them, like low light or frosty mornings.

I just picked up a Nikon Rimfire scope. The reticle, BDC 150 is calibrated to the 22lr.

I use a 4*16*50 , had a 6*24* 40 and I liked that scope better but my mate dropped it bye bye scope lol ,
the 4*16 is grand but I just find its a little under powered for the longer shots as fisma said before me 6*20
would be Ideal, if 140 is all u have to spend tasco or hawke , check out optics.com might help u out
