Taking a punt and heading over to Cardiff for the HCup Final. Just wondering if anyone here has any advice on accommodation?. As cheap and cheerful as possible please :D.

Cardiff is arguably the worst city to get a bed for a big match day. You will do very well to get a bed for the night at the best times; look now and either take the first place you find or book well out of the town and prepare for a commute after the game.

Or camp at a rugby club. I remember a fair few around the city offering places for camper vans too.

I'm for the final myself. EVERYWHERE in Cardiff and 90% of Newport was sold out, at the time of booking (a month or so ago). All I can say is good luck.

We even resorted to emailing fans to camp in their garden. We did however get a hotel

I don't want to be negative but you wont get anywhere close. Be prepared to travel

Try something like short term apartment rentals, I've never used or heard anything about the web site below but just might be somewhere to start.

I have to say I'd agree with other posters you are unlikely to get a hotel now in Cardiff for anything reasonable, I booked rooms last June for it.
