cycle touring idea.

Can anyone recommend a good basecamp in meath/ west meath/louth a fella could camp up safely for a few days and explore the surronding area by bike(cycle touring) thanks fsl.

This might do, on the shores of Lough Derravaragh, close to Multyfarnham. A very good base from which to explore Westmeath and Longford. Lots of flat countryside, lakes, rivers and canals to explore. Athlone and Fore are two good historical sites within reach. According to their website they do boat hire, a day boating on the lake is a pleasant change after a few days on the bike.
