    Hi there

I am lookingfor tips on how to prevent the pointed toes of leather boots from getting allscratched. I put on my new pair of TonyLama cowboy boots this morning and scratched the toes of both boots before evenleaving my bedroom :(.
Part of me thinks I shouldjust wreck the boots to get it over and done with, as I believe the toes willbe destroyed in no time. The toes arevery pointed and thus a little awkward at times, but they are amazing boots,hand-made, leather soled and hauled all the way from El Paso, Texas.

Any tipsmuch appreciated, also, moderator, if there is a more suitable thread forlooking for advice on this topic, please let me know.

    Merci

Is it the tip of the toe that's getting scuffed? If so, you can get a piece of rubber put on the sole of your boots (from the point of the toe back to where the point meets the 'foot' of the boot) which will help protect the point of the boot.

its the top side of the toe, if that makes sense, the paint is already scratched off and the leather gets damaged too. So its not at the point of contact with the ground, rather the point of contact if you were to kick a football upwards

these are the boots in question

Ah, ok. I thought it may have been the very point/tip of the boot that was getting scuffed. I had a pair of pointy toed boots a while back (something like this, and they put a little cap on the point of the toe to sort it. Pointy toed boots just take a little getting used to, such as leaving extra space for your toe when walking up stairs, etc., but after the initial breaking in period it'll be better!

they're cowboy boots they are meant to be beat to sh1t, it gives them character. If you were looking for something to keep pristine you would hve been better looking at something more formal.
