RTÉ crime correspondent needs to be fired.
His broadcast reports are unbelievably biased and he's a disgrace to the journalistic profession.

I heard him on the RTE Radio One news. He spoke to "sources" close to Callinan, obviously Callinan himself, which Pat Rabitte recognised later on. If this was Mick Clifford or John Mooney people here would be saying they are heroes for getting the inside information. Why do you think what he is reporting is unbelievable? You mightn't like what you are hearing and you can accuse him of bias but if he has access to sources like that why would his reports be unbelievable?

He has been screened inside Mountjoy with the inmates going to and fro behind him for an RTÉ news item. I voted no to your poll. Watch another Irish news channel like TV3.

I can only come to the conclusion you're deaf if you don't see the issue with his current reporting on the garda issue.

I was not that blind that I didn't notice you accused Reynolds of being female. I see you changed it.

You're hilarious, you obviously haven't listened to him recently. Have a listen to him from todays News at 1, his own colleague even gets frustrated with him.

The point is he shouldn't have a point of view, he's not an opinion writer.

Then don't listen to him if what he says doesn't suit your beliefs.Go and listen to someone who does. There's plenty of them

Fair enough I was waiting for something along those lines. So you think he has a conflict of interest?

You don't seem to understand the simple concept that it's nothing to do with beliefs or opinions. He should be reporting facts which then allow the listener to form their own opinion on the story, not to lead or direct the listener one way or another.

Anyone listening to him will see he's very biased on this story, he was cut off by one of his own colleagues today for going off on a eulogy for the ex commisioner, and take a look at the type of people tweeting about him being a Garda spokesman, other journalists, a senator, a TD amongst others.

That's not much of an argument if you're trying to debate whether certain crime correspondents (and Paul Reynolds isn't the only one) are forwarding a particular biased point of view, especially if they are working for the state-owned news organisation. This issue has been raised by a number of people of late (I heard a lecturer in media from, I think, DCU who spoke very eloquently on the subject) and at the very least shows an issue with regards to how 'reporters' view their job and possibly raises issues about their 'sources' and how they are possibly influencing the news.

Didn't Paul Reynolds win money off AGS for some claim or other?
If he was a mouthpiece I don't think he would have brought the case

FWIW I think hes better than Paul Williams who just seems to be out to big up his own name

If you pick up a rock and hurl it into the nearest crowd of people I promise you will hit somebody who is better than Paul Williams.
