No question its the same car. Isn't it a full on crime to clock a car these days?

Strange as tbh it's not enough of a drop to make worthwhile.

I reckon something else is going on.

Not a crime to clock one, but it is to offer one for sale that has been clocked.

Or even in the second. I don't think the fall is dramatic enough to hugely affect the price or desirability. Maybe I'm wrong however.

It would seem to be the same all right, possibly bought at auction and a bit of "mileage correction" maybe?

    How is it not a dramatic drop?? ,,, 47,000km = 30,000 miles !!

30,000 miles is the difference between 80,000miles and 110,000 miles , which for example could be the enough to sell a car to your average john or mary that would have a psychological mental block when it comes to cars above 100k miles.

That alone could be the difference between a making a sale (and at a higher price) and would be easier to pass of as genuine mileage

They dropped it to about 113k miles. It's still above the magic 100k mile mark and it's still high KMs no matter what way you dress it up. And surely they won't be able to charge much of a difference for the lower miles given it's not even that low.

I'm not excusing it and I know nothing about the garage but I just wondering is something else going on here.

€2,500 euro difference in price would suggest it is

First price would be the auction drumming up interest I'd imagine

That's an auction advertised price. We don't know what it sold for and as people who work in the trade will agree, it will now have to cover the businesses overheads in the price of the car and leave them with a profit.

Could also say the higher price includes allowance for tade in, cash discount vs auction price to generate interest

still 2.5k euro is a big enough difference
I presume the auction price is its reserve price ?

Maybe they just did a Ferris Bueller on it?

reduced as low as the last nct milage record would allow most likely.

interesting that the forecourt price is 500 euro higher than the donedeal price. would the salesman tell a prospective buyer that they are advertising it 500 euro online and as the car just went through auction it can't be an old price that they decided to lower.

Common enough at the minute, high mileage car goes for small money at the auctions, found on small Dublin dealer's forecourt a few days later.

I'd be amazed if its a mistaken mileage reading.

    Maybe a kilometre/mile conversion?

    This too shall pass.

Tried all the conversions and it appears not.

I'd hope it's an honest mistake otherwise donedeal makes it look like amateur hour.

Ah keep away from it, whatever about the strange mileage it's a combination of the worst colour with the boggiest spec. *Sigh*
Somebody ring them both up tomorrow, and see who's telling porkies....
