Would really appreciate some feedback. Getting letters threatening legal action for a bill that Eircom say does not exist.

Solicitors claim Eircom haven't contacted them although Eircom tell me they have. Trying to phone Eircom on 1901 and can't get connected to a rep.

Would appreciate some help on this.

    Thanks

    Hi redandwhite

If you would like to PM me the account number mentioned on the letters or your old telephone number with eircom I will be able to look in to this further for you.

    Thanks

I am still going through this with eircom myself.

In my case it was a Debt Recovery Agency who called threating to take me to court.

I checked with eircom and they confirmed I don't owe the debt and promise to set things straight with the Agency.
2 weeks later the Agency still denied ever hearing from eircom and continue to harass me with calls and letters. Even threating to visit my home  work to recover the money.

Even when I thought it was all sorted, nope still they ring, still they claim I owe money.

Don't bother with 1901, they are useless and actually lie to you on the calls. I was told I was speaking with a member of the Credit Recovery team in Cork and even was transferred to the "Credit Recovery Supervisor" only to find out this was just a standard 1901 agent trying to get me off the lines.

I can only advise you to do the following:
1: To stop the calls insist they remove your contact number from their database and insist they deal with you by mail only. That means from then on there is a record of all the contact between you and eircom.

    2. If someone in eircom has said they would resolve this for you, get their full name and ask they send you a letter confirming this. Its amazing how much details have gone "Missing" on eircom's end from my phone conversations.

    3. Have a second contact in eircom who is aware of the case and will continue on if your main contact is unavailable (Or as has happened in my case has gone on a 4 week holiday.)

    4. Ask for a reference number you can supply to Hugh J ward and tell them you are disputing this case and until it has been resolved between you and eircom, they are not to follow up with you. If they disagree give them the names of the 2 agents and any supervisors and tell them that they need to be contacted in regard to this.

    5. If anyone does visit your home demanding payment (As happened in my case.) Take their name and company name, say you wont deal with them and close the door. If they refuse to leave call the Guards. Unless you give them explicit permission to visit your home you are being harassed and if they wont leave when you ask them to its trespassing. (Don't call 999 unless you feel threatened, use your local Gardaí's Station Number instead.)

Finally if you have proof they are incorrectly accusing you of the debt and despite everything they refuse to acknowledge this, gather everything you have and visit a lawyer. Its not the best answer but I have spoken with people who have had their lives almost ruined with daily visits and calls which suddenly vanish once they were able to bring someone in to back themselves up. Don't forget eircom were happy to bring Solicitors into this. Get your own and watch how quickly they start backing down when they see you have one of your own.

    Edit:
Forgot to mention. eircom's Service Level Agreement for this is supposed to be 5 days before a member of the Debt Recovery Team contacts you. In 7 days it will be a month since someone contacted me with an update on this. Welcome to eircom's we don't give a crap about these people queue. There are a lot of people ahead of you.
