Thinking of going to Albufiera in June with my wife and 3 year old daughter.

Im looking at 1 of 3 hotels and Im hoping someone may have stayed there and offer some advice.

    The 3 are as follows;
    • Club Praia Da Oura
    • Oura Praia hotel
    • Oura view beach club
I understand they are sister hotels close to each other. The Oura view beach club was my first choice but its quite expensive.

Ive read the club praia da oura has had ongoing refurbishment that could be problematic, depending what apartment your allocated.

That leaves the Oura Praia hotel.

If anyone has stayed in any of the above, Id appreciate any advice/pointer etc.

    Thanks in advance.

I stayed in the Ours Praia Hotel, I liked ot, great location, about 5 minute walk to the main strip in Montechoro, and a bout a 5 minute taxi ride to the Old town of Albuferia which is a beautiful town. It's maybe 5 minute stroll down to the beach. Location is very good.

Hotel itself is nice, found the staff to be good. And checkin was quick. The pool area is large and gets busy from early morning. There's a small kids pool as well.

There's some music outside the bar in the pool area at night until maybe 10, it's not loud and very much kinda sing along, easy music, real kinda family evening out. We often just sat at the balcony and had a glass of wine and listened to the singer's in the background.

There's a large shop next door to the hotel, so very handy for getting messages.

I'd have no hesitation in reccomending the hotel. This sister hotel which you mention is dearer, is just a little bit more exclusive, and pricey. A touch closer to the beach. I wouldn't see much of a difference really, hardly worth paying the extra money

If you've any other questions let me know. I've been to Albuferia a couple of times.

Have to agree with Ruginator I stayed in Oura Praia about 4 years ago and loved it.
Lovely apartments we had a 1 bed apartment for 2 but I think the studio was as big and their balcony was very big.
Stayed in Areais Village nearby 2 years ago and thought they were fantastic apartments too.

We stayed in Oura Praia a few years ago......can't remember what year exactly.
We really enjoyed our holiday there. The apartments were lovely and spacious. And clean. Pool area was lovely. It was very handy having the supermarket next door for breakfast and lunch items!
The beach is situated in front of the Club. That's more family friendly e.g. Kids clubs, activities etc. we had to walk through their grounds to get to beach which we didn't mind doing. I have a vague memory of steps!! I think we had to wear a plastic bracelet for the week so they knew you were from the other hotel!
It was a short walk from the Oura Praia to the long street where all the bars and restaurants were. Lots of choice! Usual holiday atmosphere.
So all in all, great place to stay. We had no complaints!

We stayed in double studio room in Club Praia Da Oura in December 2012. Off season so it was very quiet, will probably be a very different atmosphere in June. As for the hotel itself, room was grand, came with a balcony with tables and chairs, not great view (but it was an incredibly cheap deal, much better views available), couple of chairs in the room as well as TV, DVD player, bathroom, and a complete self catering kitchen, the bed was one of those ones that pulls out of a wardrobe in the wall so still plenty of room and comfortable too. Also sheets were changed and apartment cleaned/toilet restocked daily. There is a bar by reception, a restaurant upstairs (which we didn't try) as well as a club/disco on site (far enough away from rooms so as not to cause distraction though).

Hotel had it's own small beach which was nice, but there's a much bigger one fairly close by. Swimming pool was decent size and plenty of lounge chairs nearby (although it was too cold at that time of year to use). Hotel is about 5 minute walk from the strip with all the bars and clubs (although this probably isn't a factor as you're going with a 3 year old). There is also a small supermarket on site if you want to eat in one night. Loads of cheap restaurants within walking distance mind. Also the hotel will be able to set up excursions for you too that pick you up from the front door (we didn't have much choice being off season but we did a day trip to Lisbon) as well as plenty of tour providers dotted nearby. Worth noting also that as a guest of CPO you also get use of the bigger indoor pool at the sea view hotel across the road for a small fee.

All in all it was a pretty nice hotel, nothing overly fancy but nice to have the option of self catering as well as the beach on-site. No complaints to speak of really. Can't really comment on atmosphere as you'll be going at what I presume will be a very popular period.

    Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback.

    1 more question.

Am I right in saying as a resident in any one of the 3 hotels, you can use the facilities in the others?

i.e. If Im staying in the Ourapraia hotel, can I bring my daughter to a kids club or kiddies disco across the road in the Club Praia etc?

    Once again thanks in advance.

Judging by the fact we were allowed to use the indoor pool in the sister hotel (albeit for a small fee), I would say that's probably pretty accurate but maybe you should email them before hand just to be sure.
