Yes that is a thought all right.

I think it varies on provider. To be honest, I can't even remember who I'm with. I think it's AA. Ring up your current one and see what they can do. Was only about a tenner extra on the policy for the phones.

IMO mobile insurance is a waste of time but as said just my opinion.

That said...home insurance? Think carefully. Most home insurance policies have an excess so if your policy does require you to pay an excess (e.g. €250, €500 ) think long and hard about it, especially given the cost of the phone and how much it will depreciate over time (say 3 months, always new gadgets coming out).

    Just saying...

I always was a good boy , got my phone from the provider under contract , insured and all that good stuff for years.
Then I had to claim. horrible experience.never ever again. not a contract , not insurance.

The company basically weaseled out of covering the phone at all.
It was which ever insurance company was the default offering from O2

Lads....mobile insurance is a scam..they have so many clauses it's unreal. I've have several mobile phone agents even admit that to my face.

If you have an Ulster Bank UFirst account then your cover is free.

Sadly, this option is no longer available to new customers. It's being discussed in the Mobiles forum. I'm glad to have joined the party before they closed down new members.

Always shop around, check the list of brokers on the IBA member list.
