    Hi Folks,

I have worked in Insurance the past 6 years but looking for a career change into IT.

I'm gonna stay working in Insurance until i do all relevant coursework, so my question is what courses and training programmes are vital/necessary to work in IT nowadays? as in what would a employer look for?

Or if my question is too broad can someone give me a breakdown of what life is like in IT and the demands of the job?

    thanks

I suggest you look through the older posts here this question comes up about once a week.

In your case I would say get on one of the groups in your company revolving around change. Usually this requires an IT change and UAT which is a good way into the field.

Your best approach would go for BA or testing work in insurance IT so you can use your existing skills and don't have to start from scratch
