SOA and ATG - what does it involve?

Does anyone know what a person who is on a Java development team doing XML from an Ultra ESB and Oracle ATG environment might be doing?

Am I right in saying SOA web services use the ESB, and a front-end application based on ATG consumes these SOA services to build web sites?

More than likely they want to push/pull data from a service to one or more other services. One end point being Oracle ATG. They will use UltraESB as the intermediary between these disparate systems. The XML will almost certainly be used for configuration, and it is quite likely the ESB will communicate with at one or more end-points using SOAP.

have you experience with Oracle ATG? Is it a good skill to acquire?
