No, Friday 21st, 5 pm was the record date, i.e. your name had to be on the share register at that time to qualify.

Admire your thinking, but if it was that easy, we'd all be rolling in it by buying RSA shares today and getting the rights issue entitlement for free. Nil-paid rights introduced to market this morning, hence the big drop in RSA share price this morning (up to 10% at one stage).

Cheers Bizness, yeah I was thinking it must have been sometime in the past.

Sadly this offer is in my opinion being managed in a shambolic manner by both the company and its registrars.

The offer ( 3 shares for every 8 held @ approx. 50% discount to current SP) available to existing shareholders is a very attractive no brainer offer.

Sure the SP has suffered but expect to rise again.

But if any shareholder wishes to take up the offer, you need to act fast, ie submit your order along with cheque payment before the deadline of 11.00am 9th April 2014. Therein lies the problem, the letters have only been sent out on Tues this week and I have yet to receive mine.

Fortunately I managed to find a way around the problem and post delays. Mind you it took over 6 phone calls and emails to find a solution.

Very disappointing given the company's recent problems and bad press and their handling of the Rights Issue is bound to impact on final outcomes.
