saorview channel numbers

    Why is RTE1 on channell 59 and RTE2 /TV3/TNAG on channell 55? I can get 59 ok but not 55 . it is an indoor aerial but usually works ok

    Usually but not always? The channels are split between 2 frequencies since late last year, the indoor aerial isn't good enough to give you a reliable signal to the TV. The 2nd frequency was required because RTÉ1 became a HD channel and because of this required more space which wasn't available on the 1st frequency.

    Unfortunately indoor aerials may not be the most reliable for stable Saorview reception.
