Internal wall insulation for Victorian House

I want to internally insulate the only external wall in the room. It is a red bricked Victorian house with lime plaster on the internal walls so it is breathable. It's a solid wall. I'm concerned if I internally insulate with insulated plasterboard that mould will develop beind this as the plasterboard is not breathable. One suggestion I got was to fix batons to the wall to allow a gap behind the plasterboard. Has anyone done this with an old house with similar walls or have any suggestions?

would you mind confirming that this house is not listed/ has a preservation order associated to it.

May I suggest you research calcium silicate or wood fibre boards
