7d Repair?

    I have a 7d which pretty much died recently. Black screen during recording. Ive tried the battery/ clock battery/ lens/ cf card changes etc and nothing.

    Its definitely a repair job, but I'd rather not have to post to the Uk and have a 6 week wait.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    At the huge risk of stating the bleedin' obvious (and in no way wanting to insult your intelligence), are you sure it's not just the Display mode? When you start recording, have you hit the "Disp" button to see if that brings back the screen during recording.

    I only ask, because I was caught with this on my 550d, and it had me stumped for a while until I realised. Granted, I am probably thicker than most people, but just sharing my experience to see if it helps you out!! :)

    If only! Power completely gone from it, refuses to turn on etc. The 7d has a little display on top of it that the 550d doesnt (I think), so I know theres no power running through it- It literally died. Cheers though!
