    Following on from this post.

I had braces around age 22 about the time I fell into alcoholism and depression. I stopped going and 10 years of self neglect later the bloody things are still on and crushing my confidence. The teeth arent fixed and I also need some remedial work.

Am I looking for a dentist or a specialist first? Cam someone PM a good one in the NW dublin (d11,d7,d9). Funds are not massive so the hollywood smile might be out. All help greatly appreciated.

    Please reply.

Firstly your never as bad as you think, and certainly the dentist will have seen much much worse. Go see a general dentist first to get things sorted from a health point of view, after that works on the more elective cosmetic thing.

    Good luck.

I must say, this is a great way of putting it. I hadn't been in a while but when I read this comment in another thread i thought that I should just make an appointment and get any problems fixed. One week later, I have a new filling, less tartar and peace of mind.
