Would anyone here have any advice on how I would go about getting onto a private ward in St James? I have a medical card already but I would rather go private for this stay as it's only a few days to maximum 1 week.

Do you have private health insurance? Are you being seen through the public health system? Your best bet would probably be to ring admissions and see what they say. If you are self funding, they'll be able to give you an idea of cost and if it's possible to stay in the public system while in a private ward but they'll probably say there's no guarantee of a private bed because they'll have no idea of what the bed situation will be till the day you're admitted.
