I need to book an Aerlingus flight for the end of July, should I book now or is there a chance they might get cheaper? What determines the price changes?

hundreds of thousands of kids who can only go on holiday in a short window in summer determines prices in July to a large extent.

Prices in the summer to holiday destinations vary from middling dear, to dear, to very dear, to "OMG thats far too dear"

If the weather in Ireland in July is really sh1te, plenty of people (esp if they have kids) who previously planned a holiday in Ireland will decide instead to go abroad somewhere which will push prices from high to very high.

So they can only go higher, I'd book now if I was you. Unless they were grossly over-optimistic when planning the number of seats on your route, the fare will only get higher if you leave it too late.

End of July is when the building trade and associated suppliers close down for a fortnight so it is seriously peak season.
