    Does this apply in Ireland?

    6. LIMITED TO UNITED KINGDOM AND NORTHERN IRELAND

Due to restrictions placed on us by our content providers, we are currently only able to make the Service available to customers who have an address located in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Mann and a credit card registered at that address. We regret that you may not use the Service if you are outside of these territories without such registered address and payment method. You may not stream or attempt to stream any content under your Prime Instant Video plan from anywhere outside the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Mann or to use any technology to obscure or disguise your location. You acknowledge that we may use technologies to verify your location.

Anyone know if it works normally here or vpn needed?

Going by the T&C even a vpn is no good unless you have a UK credit card.

! they take a subscription directly after your free trial unless you cancel it.

None of the services including movies and kindle lending library are available in Rep of IRL

this is a bargain to avoid

I got it but it doesn't work in the republic, could stream it through the playstation but as soon as i clicked on a title it said not available in your location.

Pity, could have been serious competition for Netflix.

Here is a shocker for you folks, the lending library is available for in Ireland. It is the only Prime service that is. So if you want to pay €95 a year for a maximum of 1 book per month you can go right ahead!

This is actually an improvement on Amazons previous position of letting Irish customers pay €60 a year for absolutely nothing.

It is a pretty poor offering when you put it like that. 95 euro for 12 ebooks that you dont even own (and can only be accessed on amazon's own tablets/ereaders - no ipad support!)

Prime becomes handy in conjunction with other services such as parcelmotel for delivery or a VPN service for instant video. all with extra costs.

There is a Kindle reading app for pretty much any device you can think of.

I got prime at the old price of £49 just before Prime Instant Video launched. Use the shipping benefits to Parcel Motel, use the video service with a vpn and get the lending library also.

It's a great bargain for me at least.

what do you use the lending library with? although they have an app for iOS they do not support lending on it. The website says ''Books that are borrowed from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library can be read only on Kindle devices.''

I signed up without realizing the charge was coming (don't remember it being clear) and now find the TV & Movies don't work in Ireland.

    - Anyone know my chances of challenging the €97 hole in my Visa statement - I am horrified, in shock and livid as am also especially broke at moment.

    :(

even at £49 + the €3.50 PM charge for each shipment (which are not 1-day delivery but more like 2-3 days given PM lead times to) to be honest, does not look like a particularly good deal.

I could do without the movie/tv streaming service if they would send packages a bit faster to Ireland, like 2-3 days or so. I recently signed up for a 3-month free trial of Amazon Family which included Amazon Prime and a £20 coupon for £100 spent in the baby store but honestly will be cancelling it before the 3 months are over. It's utterly useless in RoI...
Not only do you get the same super-saver shipping speed but even the logistics are extremely slow for what you would think would be a priority service. E.g. you place and order and it could take 3 days just for it to leave their warehouse.

I'm a big Amazon fan and customer but I believe they shouldn't even be selling Prime in Ireland. You get maybe 20% of the value of what a UK customer would get but paying exactly the same price

There is no problem, I accidentally let the month run and then cancelled the service from amazons portal, few days later they had refunded the money.

If you haven't used the service you'll get a refund. I cancelled mine in time, took a screen grab and everything (thankfully) but still got charged.

There was no issue with getting a refund but was livid that I got charged in the first place when I had very clearly cancelled the subscription.

I sign up for the Prime trial with new Amazon accounts anytime I'm ordering off them (always remembering to turn off auto-renew when trial expires in account settings) and any Prime eligible items I've ordered have been delivered to PM in a day and are with me the next.I ordered a book off them on Sunday night for example, and it was in my PM locker on Tuesday morning.

If it was any other company I'd feel bad for never paying for delivery, and I'm surprised Amazon haven't copped on to me yet tbh.
