Eircom Fixed Line Forwarding

    Hi Folks,

Does anyone know the best way to remotely setup call forwarding on a Eircom fixed line.

Eircom advise that it can only be done through support centre via email /phone call Monday through Friday 8am -> 6pm. This doesn't suit weekends/having to wait on support centre to action or cost incurred.

There must be a better way ?

    Regards,
    BM

There probably is but they wont release the codes or give access.
If you can get someone to site get them to put in the *21* code for you

I'm wondering whether you could rig up something with a PC with internet access and an old analogue modem on site to do this? It'd be a case of being able to access the PC remotely using vnc or something similar and running a short command file to send the necessary dialling strings to the modem to effect or cancel the call forwarding.

Thanks Alun, a bit too technical for me.

If you have good internet access at that site you could get a SIP trunk instead of an ordinary landline.
Then if you wanted to divert just go to the homepage and do it there.
blueface.ie are one supplier and goldfish.ie
You could port your existing number to a supplier like that
