Normally the amount of days owed to you will be taken off your notice period. So say you have a weeks leave to take and are due to serve one month's notice. They will take the leave into account and you will finish in three weeks time.

Thanks Mezcita, I think in my particular case you have to serve the one month's notice. So there is an option to either take the holidays which pushes out your time of notice by the days you take or paid annual leave.

That's how I perceive it, I want to know would this sound reasonable?

Obviously I will ask but I don't want to be ignorant either.

Whatever leave you're owed, you'll have to take as part of your notice period. If it exceeds a month, you can ask for a cash payment.

Are you sure you're entitled to the entire year's leave? It's usually pro-rated.

I've always got paid whatever days were owed to me in my final pay. I've never been forced to take it as part of my notice period.
