iPhone 5s screeching noise during calls

    I have an iPhone 5s and during some phone calls I get an ear-piercingly loud screeching noise. Most of the time its only on my end but sometimes the person on the other end gets it too. This can last anywhere between 2 and 10 seconds and is deafeningly loud. If I'm wearing the earphones, I have to take them out :(

    Does anyone else get this? Is it a handset problem? And most importantly, how do I get it to stop???
