Hi there,
There is an issue with role permissions that is being worked on at the moment.

Do you need to get permission to publish a book for a particular certification.

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum or not.
If there's a better area please let me know.

I want to write a training book for a particular technical certification.

To get the cert you have to complete an exam and the body awards the qualification.

So my question is would I need to get permission from the body that grants the certification to publish a training book for their programme?

E.g. Suppose I wanted to write a training book for the Cisco CCNA exam. Do you need to get permission from Cisco to write for their exam? If you don't for Cisco are there any areas that you would need special rights to write the book?

I don't think I need permission but I don't want to undertake the work and then get told I can't publish it. I've asked the company that controls the certification but haven't been able to get a reply.
