What year is the car? What engine?

you'll need to get it plugged.in with someone that has proper equipment to read the fault codes.

Could be a million different things, as above get it plugged in and have the code read.
Independent garage will charge you considerably less than Ford.

HI, getting red warning light that comes on every few weeks in Ford Focus saying "Engine Systems Fault". When I turn car off and back on its gone, only to return a week or so later again, been happening the last 2 months. Car running perfect.
Anyone know where to get a scan tool to reset the warning as if it comes back after that I know then I have to get it checked.

    Thankyou

I used to get that on my C-Max now and then, usually just after I'd driven a bit too fast over a bump or hit a pothole. I suspect it was a loose connection somewhere, and "turning it off and on again" always solved it, but I never did get to the bottom of it.

Ya my warning only comes on after been in the car for a hour or so every week or two, never comes on straight away after turning ignition. I did buy white bulbs for registration plate and thats when I saw the warning first just after installing them, I put standard bulbs back to see if would stop warning happening but to no avail, I tried leaving battery disconnected for a half hour to see if the ecu would reset and forget the warning but hasnt worked so my next step is scan tool if I can find the right one thats compatible with my focus 1.4 zetec hatchback as few on ebay said their ones for around 20 euro wont work with my model.
Id prefer to buy a scan tool for around 50 or 60 rather than going to garage as I can use the scan tool in future for my car and checking other possible buys.
