I've an Octavia and the bonnet catch (secondary one in the grill) is catching.

Any suggestions to the best way to fix this. Assuming either WD40 or grease - any difference - which is best or is there an alternative?

WD40 (Water Displacement 40th formula) isn't a lubricant, its a Water repellent, how many times i've seen people say they cant understand why the chain on their bike is rusted even though they lubricated it with WD40 ;)

Lubricate the the joints with grease.

Might be good to clean it with wd40 first though. It is good at gettng muck off things.

    Vaseline would do.

    great - thanks for that!

Have to head back to the NCT this week to get the final acceptance - the sticky catch was the only thing they pulled me on!

Id recommend wurth hhs 2000. This has the same penetrative properties as wd40 but unlike wd40 it doesn't dry out. Instead it leaves a protective film of grease behind.

    Its expensive stuff though.
