Number plate LED bulb recommendations

Folks,

Can anyone recommend a specific LED bulb that is actually error free for a VW Passat CC. They were standard on my last car and really made a nice subtle difference to the appearance of the car at night. So far I've tried two different types that claimed to be error free but they still through up a "bulb out" warning message on the dash.

You need CANBUS LEDs and I've yet to find a Chinese set that will work in any CANBUS car. They all gives error especially in Audi's and VWs. Your best off biting the bullet and buying a decent set from Osram or Phillips (Buy cheap, expect cheap etc) They will last a good deal longer anyway as the Chinese clones are poor quality and sometimes give errors. Had a set on a friends car that would flash and strobe on their own every so often

Canbus leds can be a right pain to get working alright.
Would recommened Osram Nightbreakers and Phillips Bluevision (light is more white than blue)

I dont buy the bulbs anymore. I pay the little extra and i buy the whole unit that has the LED built into them.

They are a little bit more expensive (BMW E90, E60 etc) but they are OEM fit and no messing with adjusting the bulbs etc

Obviously canbus ones too.

You can buy a package for the whole car from ledperf.co.uk - I got all my interior ones for mine from them. Already has the LED number plate lights but there is an original VAG part number for these which might work for you.

More expensive than bulbs but might be worth it to you. I have found cheap bulbs dont last and buying quality ones like Osram or Phillips arent far off the price of the full unit above.

I went through a phase of trying loads of led bulbs. the chinese ones all eventually start to die or flicker. I'm using these in my a6 and they are working perfect, not sure if the same fit as yours but worth a look

I've used these in both the Honda and the BMW and never had any trouble or with them flickering etc.

do these just connect into normal connector housing after you remove old fitting, i got led bulbs before and it was a hash job of adaptors and rubbish, im looking plug and play for my a4 b6 which i think these will fit, alot cheaper than ebay same lights on ebay around £25

Thanks guys for all the info. I'm going to give these ones a go. They seem to be of higher quality and reviews suggest they don't through up errors on VAG cars.
