With BBC4 moving to Italy for it's Saturday evening Euro Crime Drama slot, Nordic Noir is switching to More 4 with Mammon which is receiving its UK premiere on Friday March 28th at 9pm.

Mammon follows six days in the life of uncompromising journalist, Peter Verås, who works for Norway’s most respected newspaper. In a dense, multi-layered plot reminiscent of All The President’s Men, Verås uncovers evidence of a financial fraud involving Norway’s political and financial elite – evidence that points to his own brother.

I'm looking forward to this. The plot is supposed to be quite complex. Episodes are 1hr 25min long.
With its labyrinthine plotting and stripped-back characters, Mammon is very much in the mould of Scandi TV hits The Killing, Borgen and The Bridge, where the apparent equality, social justice and liberalism of the Scandinavian model is seen to cover up dark secrets and hidden hatreds.

    Did anyone watch it?

I think I need to watch the next episode to really decide if it is a good show or not. There were a few good bits here and there, but the characters are not that great. It is only 6 episodes long, so it not that big of a commitment. Willing to give it a chance anyway.

Yeah I watched, fairly easy to pick up on the story, although the pace was slow at times, though I think its a good series.
Didnt expect his brother to pull the trigger though

First episode was good. Definitely intriguing and will definitely watch the series. It does remind me of the bridge. Scandinavian countries are bloody good at thrillers the first subtitled triller I watched was girl with the dragon tattoo. Can't wait for the returned season two

Second episode was very good, lots of twists and turns. Cant wait for the next one! There must be something going on between Haugen's son and Daniels son, because of the sons name being Abraham and Daniel donating the picture of Abrahams sacrifice to the church (along with appearing at the church screaming at the picture).

Had recorded this on the UPC box but being UPC it made a balls of it and episodes were sans subs, audio was out of sync and the image kept freezing. So when HMV reopened here last week and I saw the DVD I grabbed it, had planned to watch an episode a night for 6 nights but found myself throwing an episode on in the middle of the day when I was free and after just finishing up episode 5 I have to say that it's damn good TV.

I can understand why so many people didn't take the show, it was sold as a crime drama when it's really a mystery and at times feels like an old school 70s espionage thriller, the scene with the cabin and the killers in snow camouflage was pure Bond or the like and it really worked. There's a real sense of dread throughout the show and the way the story slowly is unwrapped is great, there's a sense of urgency to it but it still takes the time to explore the characters.
