Time Capsule Server Q

Hi I have recently gotten a time capsule which I mainly use for back ups and streaming media. My work involves constant use and editing of PowerPoint and Word on different machines (windows) so I usually have all my files I need on a usb and just plug it in to whatever machine I have available at work.

The problem is that I always somehow manage to lose these usb's!! I have a google drive account and have my files backed up but don't get the chance to do it regularly. So this week I lost the usb but had a back up from last week (so lost a few days worth of PP and word). Google Drive isn't installed on the comps at work. I would have to go online, download the file, edit it and then upload and replace it which is too much hassle.

Anyways my question is that is there anyway I can make my own version of google drive using the TC. So have a folder on it which I could access from work online?? I could cut out the usb's then. I have a UPC horizon router btw.

    Thanks

I think there might be some way of getting remote access to a TC but how about storing your files on Dropbox?

Does dropbox not operate the same way as googledrive?

Dropbox runs in the background on either your PC or Mac and it'll automatically sync your files. Because it's automatic you won't ever need to do it, as long as you store the files on Dropbox. You'd be opening them from a Dropbox folder and it'll just save them back to there.

This is true, but based on the bolded section below in the OP, I would expect that Dropbox, due to requiring installation for said syncing, would be out of the question for the same reasoning.

spot on. I use multiple machines and don't know which I use before I go in everyday.
