Hi all, put a hkc quantum into parents house and at the time they had a eircom landline, and I set it up to text 3 numbers if the alarm when off.

Roll on to this week and they are after getting upc horizon and eircom is gone.
With the horizon box its an all in 1 , tv, bb and phone are connected to this box, problem A) box is located is the sitting room, if I got a good long phone line and plug one end into the horizon box and the other end into the old eircom box in the hall, would this work? , in theory it should.
    B) now will the quantum still send texts as normal or will it have to be changed over to voice ?

    Thanks

    A) , it will work but you will need to disconnect the incoming Eircom line. Is there no phone point nearer to your UPC box?
You could also use something like this.
    B) You can not send texts from the UPC line you will need to change to voice.

Sadly thought as much about the sms, no there isn't a phone point closer just the line in the hall and the upc point is in the sitting room.
how many phones can the alarm call?

The system can ring 4 numbers. What you need to do for each zone is set up zone audio. Zone 1 Front Door, Zone 2 Pir Hall and so on. You can also record a voice message so you know what alarm is contacting you. When the alarm rings your phone it will say, alarm activation at your home(recorded message) and then list of the activation's that have happened.

We bought a few of these in Maplins a while back & then they needed to be ordered in. After they seen us ordering a few, next think the price went up about 60% . Typical of someone who charges €45-€50 for a battery.
