I don't know what to get for my living room and bedroom

    Hi
It seems to me that everything is quite dark perhaps?
This is fine if you are confident you like that but most people would find it a little heavy I think - unless your home is absolutely flooded with South facing light?
I'm guessing you are female! (Apologies if I am wrong!) but maybe consider an upholstered bed - Lots around - the one below is from Next.
Do a search on Houzz for dark timber floors in the bedroom section - it will hopefully help you determine the style you like!
    Good Luck!

My neighbour has those dark wooden floors in his apt. In his room he choose cream, teal, duck egg blue and a hint of gold to lift the room. He has all those colours in a stripe wall paper on a feature wall and then accessories and furnishings with the same colour scheme. He took the headboard off the bed too so that the wall wasn't covered up.
His living room has neutral walls and bright couches (red) with cushions that have the dark brown, cream and reds and a rug that is the same.

You could go neutral for furniture and it doesn't have to be wood and just try lift the room with bold colours on your duvet, cushions, art work etc.

For measurements, I cut up newspaper to replicate the size of furniture and laid it out on the floor of my apt. I was able to see the amount of space taken up, if I could open doors, drawers and walk freely between items.

I'm afraid the colour of the furniture is too close in tone to that of the floor, which would make everything a big swamp of brown.
I find that using lighter coloured furniture works better with darker floors.

You could get away with it though if you add a large-ish contrasting rug.

It sounds like your room is quite dark. If so, light furniture could give the room the face-lift it needs.

Also, adding some kind of color pops to get a focal point in the room could be a great idea. In the case of a bedroom, always add the pops to the bed (perhaps with the help of a throw or pillows)

It's quite hard to really say without being able to see the room. The most important thing, though, is that YOU are happy with whichever color you're going with.

(A photo of the room would be of great help! :))
