Let me try and explain what I'm looking to do. Mods: feel free to move this thread if you feel it would be more suited to another forum.

I have a Sony Xperia T that I unlocked this week. Has been running with a Meteor SIM for the last year and I'm still in contract with them for a couple more months. This week I have been given an O2 SIM by work and I'm using that right now. I will continue to pay Meteor by direct debit until the contract end, then I will port my personal number to O2.

So, I'm going to have two mobile numbers for the next couple of months; my personal one (Meteor) and one for my work (O2). Is it possible to set up a call forward from my Meteor number to my O2 number without my Meteor SIM actually being in a handset?

Think so, just put the meteor sim in a phone, set it to call forward to your o2 number, then just put in your o2 sim and work away.

I stand to be corrected on this but i think you may get charged for call forwarding, not 100% on that though.

Let me give it a try. What's the worst that could happen? :pac:

My Meteor plan has hundreds of minutes and texts that never get used. Or maybe I could set up the call forward on the O2 SIM, since work pays for that one.

You couldn't do that, as in activate forwarding from a Meteor SIM to the O2 SIM, from the O2 SIM......just think about it!!!

The only forwarding options available from either SIM involve the numbers associated with either SIM, simples.

So set up forwarding using the Meteor SIM, choose "Always Forward" from the options available.

This is what Meteor say about diverts(call forwarding)

    Diverts

You can forward calls to your Voicemail or to another Irish number. This means that a friend can call you on your mobile number, and you can answer on another phone

We've set up your phone to forward to your Voicemail if unanswered. All calls forwarded to Voicemail are free of charge, where as calls forwarded to other numbers will be charged at the normal rate for that call. Your phone user guide has more details on how to use this service.
X = Your mobile phone number
Divert on when no answer **61*+35385(5)XXXXXXX# - call
Divert on when not reachable **62*+35385(5)XXXXXXX# - call
Divert when busy **67*+35385(5)XXXXXXX# - call
To clear all diverts ##002# - call
Important: clearing all diverts will stop any calls being forwarded to Voicemail.

    Clear as mud, IMO!!!

I think forwarding using the Android Settings should work, but cannot swear to it :(

    Go to Dialler/Settings/Call forwarding/Always forward.....

This will show disabled, just click and input your O2 number, then enable!!! (KitKat Settings.

You will be charged for forwarded calls!!
