Beware of pothole at entrance to PH in Cabra

Was just dropping the other half into town when I hit a pothole outside PH Ross on the Old Cabra Road, here.

There was a massive bang and straight away the front left tyre went flat. Pulled over to change it and the back one was pissing air too.

The front tyre had a massive hole in it so I swapped over on to the spare and luckily I carry a portable pump so was able to reinflate the rear a few times to limp home.

Anyone have any luck claiming off Dublin City Council.

Not sure how much new wheels will be but only recently replaced the tyres at €160 a piece

Damn, that's a nasty one!:(

I believe it's the case that they'll pay out if they've previously repaired the pothole. That's just what I've read here previously. Someone else will probably come along with personal experience.

Looking at Street View, the road looks in bits so it's probably a botched repair job,

The tyre looks a bit on the Telly Savalas side to start with. How old was it?

From previous posters here I think the success of a claim depends on if the council were informed of the pothole prior and did nothing.

It's a 2011 car (15,000 miles) and it had its first change of tyres just over a month ago so it's not old.
