    Hey guys and gals,

Your help required please: I got this watch for as a present recently. Honestly I dont know the first thing about it only it is an automatic watch and all the mechanisms appear to move but it doesnt fucntion as a watch even after I wound it. A google search has told me that it could need a cleaning to get it going. My questions are: 1) would anybody know the make and value of the watch, 2) is it worth getting any work done to it?

    Thanks for your help :)

No idea G TBH. Funky looking mind you. Automatics have a pendulum weight in the back that you should see moving around when you move the watch. This winds it as you wear it by the natural movement of your arm. It's odd it doesn't run when you manually wind it though. I'd say any repairs if needed would be expensive enough and without knowing what make of watch it is I don't know it that would be worth it or not.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Take it to a watch repairer and they may be able to assess it and give you a quote for repair?
