My gf was told twice that her three year degree from dcu will not be recognised in austrailia because she has not done a four year degree including intra.. Its still an honors.. Is there any truth to this ?

Nonsense, an honours degree is an honours degree regardless of work experience.

    Unfortunately, it's not that straightforward.

Though generally, Irish degrees are deemed to be of a sufficient standard to be recognised in Australia, there are exceptions.

The body in charge of assessing your qualifications depends on your field and the part of Australia you want to move to.

To find out what body will need to assess your degree, look at the following website, which gives an A-Z of occupations in Australia
    http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/a-z.htm

It'll tell you whether your qualifications need to be assessed by an external agency and, if so, which assessment authority will be responsible for this.

    Good luck!
