Need help choosing a headset under €50. Narrowed it down to these two but if anyone has a recommendation it'd be appreciated!

    Corsair Raptor HS40
    Plantronics 780

I have the Plantronics 780 and I like it. It's reasonably comfortable, the mic is good and the 3D effect is convincing enough. It doesn't really work if something is making noise directly behind you though. To me, it sounds like something in front of you but quieter.

What version of windows are you using? My friend had the Plantronics headset and said he had a whole load of driver issues on Windows 8, now he's back on windows 7 and they are great.

Win 7. Maybe it's just me but it doesn't sound quite right, but nothings perfect. Still, I would recommend them to anybody.

He needs to run the driver in compatibility mode on windows 8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HNlLCBgP94

You'll be fine then. The Plantronics are good for the price. I gave mine to my son and they're still going strong. Headsets in general aren't great though. You're better off getting a good set of headphones and a separate mic. Here is a good guide if you want to go that route http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envys-headphone-gaming-guide-update-3-12-2014-monster-dna-on-ear-added
