JSA + Casual Work

Hi All
Looking for some help I have a chance of casual work i.e up to 3 days a week. I get 392 JSA a week.. partner + 2 kids but not married. Pay for casual work is 110 a day before tax. Just wondering if I was to do 3 day week how will if affect my JSA and would i be taxed...

Your means on 330 per week would be aprox.
€330 less 60 = €270 get 60% of that = €162 means.You would get €260 per week in jsa.

Thank mp22 so i lose 44 euro for everyday i work

Perhaps the way to look at it,is you gain €66 for every day you work.

Your welcome. You have to be working 19 hrs per week to qualify for FIS. From doing the figures here (tax excluded) I would think that you will be far better off working 3 days per week. You will retain your medical card...assuming you have one and if you should still get back to school allowance in Aug/Sept if you have children in school...of course if you were married you could also get better tax credits(not pushing you into anything lol). I am going to go on my own little soap box/rant here now just for a while. Co-hab couples for welfare purposes have their income jointly assessed but cannot get the same tax credits as married couples totally unfair but its up to co-hab couples to organise themselves as a group and tackle this.

Thanks again Eastbono....As fas as your little rant goes lol...i have approached 2 local T.Ds on this issue... 1 ( I wont mention any names) told me that I was able to claim tax credits for my partner (not true I Know) and the other told me '' Just get married'' If I had the money I would but I dont
