I quite like Pygmalion in the Powerscourt for a wee spot of lunch.

I'm the same, looking for somewhere to get a decent soup and sandwich for a reasonable price

Buswell's Hotel in Molesworth St is not too far and pretty ok. The cafe at M&S has some good views - on top floor. Davy Byrne's might be the better choice, however.

Second Pygmalion. Pepperpot Cafe in Powerscourt Centre is also nice. So many options around that area really. Avoca do those roast meat sambos now. Fallon & Byrne, Busyfeet & CoCo, Pablo's Torta's beside Peter's Pub for some Mexican sambos, Hatch & Sons on Stephen's Green

Or get a toastie in Grogan's along with a pint since you're not after anything fancy! If you'd rather pubs maybe also try The Duke or O'Neill's. Not sure what their sambos are like though.
