Annual Leave Policy

Hi all, Just wondering if a company can implement a policy whereby staff have to take half their annual leave in the first 6 calendar months and the other half during the rest? Thought something like that would need to be in your contract? Or am I mistaken?

Here is some basic information on your rights wrt annual leave.

You don't have an absolute right to decide when to take your leave. Your employer has the right to decide when it is, within reason.

Thanks for that. I knew employers had a say on annual leave, just didn't realise the extent. I just think that it would seem unreasonable to have half your leave taken before the school holidays even start if you have kids.
