What effect will problems in Ukraine have on the price of grain this year?

With the current unrest in Ukraine/Crimea/Russia, what will be the effect on grain prices in the rest of the EU this year?

Ukraine was forecast to have bumper crops this year. Presumably the Russian market will be cut off - will this lead to an oversupply of grain into the rest of EU, thereby reducing the prices?

The ongoing issues in the Ukraine are not influencing massively on grain price moves IMO. But it was the catalyst that got some movement in the markets. For quite a while things were very stagnant and traders plus players hate that.

For me it's the money that is pouring in from the equity markets that is creating the movements. Share markets have outplayed their underlying values and with the Fed signalling possible inflation and interest rate rises, commodities are the logical refuge.
It's all gambling to try and make a margin. However anyone with a few quid should take a position fairly soon. IMHO.
