It starts at about 350 and goes up.

When I was 18 or 19 when I was first driving I was paying 3 or 4 grand.

€350??? Where are you getting your insurance? I paid €393 last year with four years no claim bonus and I thought that was pretty good!

Insurance prices are different for everyone and also dependant on the car you are insuring, it's impossible for anyone here to tell you how much it will cost you. You need to ring around a few insurance companies and get a picture of what it will cost.

The make, model, engine size of the car, along with the value, the location where it will be kept, where you live, whether it has an alarm/immobiliser, how long you've had your license, do you have your full license, and your driving history all play a part in determining the cost of your insurance.

Without those details, all anyone can give is a range of €350 - €6,000.

Do you mean a car reg to look it up. Just pick a car on DD and bang in the reg number.
It asks if you have a license. Just say yes.
Try chill or someone like that.

How much? I guess more than the price of the car !

Don't let that put you off.......we all had to start at the beginning.

Try the various Direct Insurers and websites. It may also be worth contacting an Insurance Broker who may be able to advise you about special rates for young Drivers.

Don't take the first quotation you get shop around.

Please let us know how you get on.

I recall the premium when I was 18 was approx 2000 , pounds! A long time ago.

Best of luck & safe driving:)

This, pretty much. It's like asking how many miles do ye all think I will drive per year? Everyones unique, like a precious snowflake...my first, on a tdi golf was £2700.00. You just have to suck it up. A neighbours son paid €9600.00 (yup) on an Integra Type R as a first car. He's had one ever since(good few years) so I guess he just decided it was the car for him no matter what.

My first insurance at the age of 23/24 was €3500. The car cost €6000. Now, with 9 years no claims I'm paying €270!

I'm paying another €390 for another 2 cars.

Total for 3 cars fully comp is €660!
