Is there any way to add favourites to the browser on an droid or can they only be placed on the home screen? Is there any free browser that can do if the default one can't

Also can a folder be placed on the home screen with several favourites in the folder to stop the home screen being cluttered?

It would help to know what phone you are using and which version of android as they all differ.

What mobile browser are you using? With Chrome and Firefox beta you have the option of adding a link/page to homescreen. Just move it in to a folder when you have created it.

In chrome the option to add to homescreen is in settings.
In firefox beta just hold your finger over the url box and a pop up appears giving you the option.

    Okay what tablet have you?

The procedure for bookmarks should be same, unless it's a cheap tablet with an early version of android.

The Google Bookmark Import Tool might be useful:

Much of a muchness between Tablets and Phones as in Google Chrome for Android making a bookmark should be more or less the same no matter what version of Android you are running

    In Chrome
Press menu, then the star up next to the forward and back buttons to make a bookmark.

To place a shortcut on your home screen, you simply need to view your bookmarks in Chrome for Android. Pick the bookmark you want to add, and then long-press on the icon. You will then see a menu pop up, with the last option being add to home screen. Select that option and then go back to your home screen. That's it. You can then add them all in to a folder for ease of access

There's also another browser available for Android called "Dolphin", which some people seem to prefer to Chrome.
