I see Jamie Spencer of all people is riding in Dundalk tomorrow. That's surely a first? He takes the ride on a Johnny Murtagh trained Qatar Racing horse. The Deegan horses are red hot at the moment, so it will certainly be up against it.

Not sure if today is the day but watch the betting for Max Ward 80/1 2.10 Newbury. He may get another run to get a handicap mark but this lad can run.3.35 Lingfield Valmina 17/2 was not trying last time in a very hot race and ran a blinder this race is not of that quality.Dundalk 7.15 Amazing Star 9/2.Shamie Heffernan gave this a very quite ride last time out and is up against horses not very well handicapped including my buddy Gold Falcon.

I had call me vic 2.10 newbury in my tracker after he & rainbow peak pulled miles clear lto. Odds on though so I won't go near it. I was hoping my wigwam or yours (who compares to his half borther in name only rather than on ability <cost me a huge double on his bumper debut> ) would make some sort of price for call me vic but that hasn't happened.

One I was looking out for to. Some clowns on betfair blew their load at 6/4-11/8 last night for peanuts which destroyed the price!!

Anyone else spot a royal ascot winner only 2 years ago running off 82 in a 0-85 on the AW.
    How the mighty have fallen!!

Bapak Chinta in the 7.35. Won the Norfolk.
But hasn't been the same horse since that day and seems to have lost it completely been given plenty chances

Another one that looks a little big in price is promised wings 3.10 newbury. Won this last year handily enough off a similar mark & has been plying his trade in higher company in the main this season. You'd have to forgive a few bad runs this season but his last run wasn't too bad. Havn't looked at the rest of the field & I see dundee punted & put up on another thread so I might just leave him

Also bumper I'm open to correction but I don't think my wigwam or yours is related to my tent or yours at all. Just the similar names as you said.

He's not related to MTOY just had the same owners. MTOY ran in those colours before JP snapped him up from the syndicate called The Happy Campers.

Managed to get a bit of 11/2 on Amazing Star at Dundalk today. The change of ownership, its last run and having Seamie Heffernan on board are enough to tell me that this is in for a good ride today. Have Akinspirit at Dundalk as well. Horse is quite nicely handicapped and has always been a useful performer at Dundalk. At 16/1 it has a real each way shout.

    7/4 to 4/5 - should go close, I reckon.

My bad. I remember now, it was the same syndicate. (Btw Wigman suggests he's an indian but he cost me a few quid on the debut when fancied so I've had him down as a bit of a cowboy since :pac:)

I think they subbed in MTOY for the end of that race. :pac:

It's only second hand info(so take with a pinch of salt), apparently having a couple more non type runs before been off again. I wish i had known this earlier before i backed it myself. Hope my source is wrong

Joe Tizzard has retired from the saddle.

Richard Johnson just rode a 25/1 winner and followed it up with a 16/1 winner. He's in some form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

Not the biggest priced horse this evening but I think the fav Alvar 2/1 should land the 8.15 Dundalk now that he's stepped back up in trip. Small field and the conditions of the race (all carrying 9.5 bar the top one) will hopefully ensure no surprises. Thats my beer money bet for this evenings sand dune racing.

Just saw result. Thank god he was odds on, I would have lost a serious wedge.

Got a text for Douce Doux there In. Dundalk. Never got a tip from this person before, so were in unknown territory for this one.

really fancy Only One Galileo in that race, stayed on well over C&D last time having missed the break, only up a pound for that and has the same decent 10lb claimer on board again.

Was punted all morning and throughout the afternoon, I looked at him and cannot see the angle but I wouldn't let that put you off, I often miss the obvious :)

    Alvar was 9-4 f
Little Arrows ran well against it last time out. They were both the same weight tonight. Little Arrows in rear last time out and make big progress into 5th, had it been in better position it would have placed last time. Seemed a different tactic tonight, it broken well and was ridden to lead. But I could not have predicted that . 9-1 was better value than 9-4 so I thought good ew.
So no great reasoning . I'm no expert .
